You’re really busy but you still want to eat healthy, right? Of course you do! You eat well and nourish your body because it makes you feel so good to keep eating healthy!
More importantly, we aren’t going to let “being really busy” stop us from feeling amazing and eating healthy foods. I created a few tips for how you can eat to stay healthy, even when your schedule is crazy!
You can make a smoothie about as fast as you can unwrap a breakfast pastry.
Choose a liquid base: coconut water, almond milk, rice milk, hemp milk (or whatever milk alternative you choose).
Add fruits and veggies (spinach, kale, cucumber, lettuce, ginger, apples, etc.)
Consider including some protein: hemp seeds, chia seeds or protein powder.
Add some healthy fats: avocado, coconut milk, cashews.
You can also add some flavors with vanilla extract, a shake of cinnamon or essential oil*
Chop up a bunch of lettuce: kale, green leaf, butter, romaine or red leaf.
Add some spinach, arugula or baby greens.
Pile on other veggies – tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, radishes, bell peppers, etc.
Add some protein, if you like. Choose pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, lentils, black or kidney beans, sprouts, and edamame.
Make a quick dressing with stone-ground mustard, olive oil, and a splash of apple cider vinegar. Include fresh herbs if you have them on hand or essential oil*
Toss it all together and eat.
Can you chop all the veggies in bulk ahead of time? If so, you can make a couple salads at a time. Add the dressing to them later.
It’s always the small habits that add up. Don’t let yourself fall back into old habits that cause you to not feel so great! I’d love to hear from you, too: what do you like to eat when you are really busy?
